This morning, Tracey, Cassandra, and Rebecca had the honour of attending the Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club International Women's Day Breakfast 2025.

The event was filled with inspiration as speakers Melissa Monteiro, Azita Abdollahian, Dr Nicole Pearce, and Ubah Gabris shared powerful stories of resilience, leadership, and balancing life’s many roles.

For us at Fusion Careers, International Women’s Day is all about celebrating the amazing women in our lives and recognising our accomplishments, strength, and ability to support one another through any challenge.

A big thank you to the team behind this fantastic event! Here’s to continuing to empower women and build more inclusive communities, workplaces, and futures. 🙌

Thank you Fusion Careers!

Accelerate Action is the theme of the 2025 IWD with advancement in education, employment and leadership for women the aim.
This morning's speakers all embraced the theme but the core message was women need to be kinder to themselves and "feel their worth".
Change is possible but change needs action.
Melissa Monteiro, Azita Abdollahian, Dr Nicole Pearce and Ubah Gabris are all amazing women who have suceeded but not without challenges.
Our club is a strong supporter of International Women's Day and we are very proud of our club President Maria Conducto and the programs we work on as a team.
More than 50 people attended the breakfast. If you would like to know more about our dynamic club please join us for Friday breakfasts at Norwest.
Thank you to the Mayor, Michelle Byrne, and Deputy Mayor Frank di Masi for joining us today.

So good Maria !👏🏽

This morning was all about Denmark and the power of the Rotary Exchange program. Bev spoke about her recent visit to Scandinavia and meeting up with our club's Rotary exchange student Ingrid and staying with Ingrid's wonderful family. We also learnt a bit more about the Danish language which is very literal...the word for lizard translates to 4 legs and skyscrapers are tall houses!!!
Our club meets every Friday at Norwest at 7am. Visitors are always welcome.

Well done Maria 👏🏽

Thank you Bev Jordan❤️

Great work Maria 🌟❄️🌟. Are you the only Australian there?

It was an appropriate day to have a talk on love, peace and justice.
Rabbi Zalman Kastel, the Dean and Founder of Together for Humanity and Hills businessman and local resident Abbas Aly who established the Imam Hasan Islamic Prayer Centre at Annangrove both spoke to club members today.
It was a timely talk.
The message was you can't have peace without justice.
We are all dififferent but we need to understand each other and find the common things we agree on.
Both men condemned the hate words of the two Bankstown nurses.
The Muslim Prayer Centre at Annangrove holds regular interfaith meetings and both men speak together about understanding and respect.
Together for Humanity togetherforhumanity.org.au brings people from different backgrounds together, fostering meaningful conversations that lead to real change.
Club President Maria Conducto introduced the speakers saying it is vital we all take a step towards fostering peace and understanding in our community and world.
"Be the change you want to see."
A big thank you to Krissie and Mason for our heart/shaped cookies and to Bev for chocolate hearts ♥️ 💜🌟

see you there!

Why do people join Rotary? There are so many reasons: making a positive difference in the community, personal growth, networking and friendship. Alex Hezari spoke about membership and how we can expand the Magic of Rotary. It was great to see so many new members, existing members and returned travellers. We missed those who couldn't be there due to work and travel. This is a great club with lots to talk about🌟Visitors are always welcome. Welcome to January 2025 - Rotary's Vocational Service Month!
Join Us …. Make a Difference.

Paul Harris wrote: "Each Rotarian is a connecting link between the idealism of Rotary and their trade or profession". Vocational Service may be the least understood of the Rotary Avenues of Service, and yet it is the very foundation of Rotary itself.

The introductory statement and three of the four objectives of Rotary relate to Vocational Service, underlining its importance to the philosophy and culture of Rotary.

Those objectives are:

 To encourage and foster high ethical standards in business and professions, to recognise the worthiness of all useful occupations, to dignify the Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society.

 To apply the ideal of service in personal, business and community life.

 To advance international understanding and goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of businessmen and professional men and women united in the ideal of service.
